Being married to a personal trainer tends to increase ones awareness to the importance of good health.As in any sport, golf carries risks to injury.My comments today are geared to avoiding injury. It is important to stretch and loosen up before any task that requires physical exertion.This would include a round at your local country club. Stretching, will help with your swing, follow through, and your ability to remain relaxed through your game. Remember to stay hydrated on the course. Drink water or sports drinks while you play. Save the beer for the clubhouse after the round. Alcohol increases dehydration, therefore increasing the risk of muscle cramps and injury.Talk to the club pro if you need help with how to loosen up before a round.They are very well informed on proper technique. Visit your local gym and see if they have a golf specific training course. If they don't , see if they could set something up, or talk to a personal trainer about what you are trying to target. Most will be more than happy to assist you in your game.
